Plough Your Own Furrow & Buy Some Blinkers. 6 tips from me on how to start.
I bumped into a dad from nursery in Sainsbury’s. He was with his children buying lasagne ingredients. I said oh I’m here buying a pair of tongues to help me tie up the underside of my car with cable ties 🤯.
To my surprise he said “oh is it your splash guard? Mine is hanging off the bottom of my car too”. This made me feel better / less weird / farmy.
This time last year I was stopping every 20 mins to fill the leaky power steering container up with milking machine oil on my old Volvo. The year before I had a mouse in my car which was entering every night and partying in my car. We called the mouse Tilly.
I am in a hurry today because I’ve got to wash my muddy car and get it to the garage so the mechanic can a) lecture me about the state of our lane and b) fix my splash guard so I stop getting weird looks from people in small villages as I drive through them with the noise of plastic dragging on tarmac.
The response to last week’s newsletter was fantastic. Thank you so so much to everyone to replied. People seem to want more of the same and the topics already on my list. I am looking forward to researching / writing about these things over the summer.
One thing people want is “how to start” tips. Lots of women wanting to work for themselves.
